PERANCANGAN REST AREA TIPE A DI KM 23A SEKSI 1 JALAN TOL PADANG – SICINCIN DENGAN PENDEKATAN REGIONALISME
Abstract
The study aims to design a rest area situated on section 1 of the Padang-Sicincin toll road at KM 23A, in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. This toll road connects Padang to Pekanbaru. The goal is to create a rest area that offers convenience and comfort to drivers and passengers, with a focus on incorporating regional characteristics into the design. The research methods involved field surveys and literature studies on existing rest area designs and standards. The analysis of a type A rest area resulted in identifying facilities such as ATMs, toilets, health clinics, workshops, kiosks, mini markets, prayer rooms, petrol stations, restaurants, green open spaces, and parking lots. The findings suggest that the regionalism strategy used in designing the type A rest area on section 1 of the Padang-Sicincin toll road will significantly benefit drivers by providing various amenities for their comfort and safety during breaks. By integrating regional architectural concepts, the rest area showcases local cultural, climatic, and behavioral characteristics, enhancing the overall experience for visitors.
