Abstract

The design of a therapy house for children with special needs in Padang City aims to create an environment that supports the physical, emotional, and social development of children through an occupational and multisensory approach. In this study, an analysis of the needs of children with special needs was carried out as well as the development of a child-friendly and responsive space design to various sensory needs. The research methods used include literature studies, field observations, and interviews with occupational therapists. The design results include a therapy room equipped with various multisensory facilities, such as a play area, relaxation room, and individual therapy room. This design is expected to improve the quality of therapy and provide a positive experience for children and their families. Thus, this therapy house not only functions as a place of rehabilitation, but also as a space for social interaction that supports the inclusion of children with special needs in the community.
