Abstract:This study aims to explain the influence of E-Learning Based
Learning and reading interest toward the students’ skills of writing review texts in
grade VIII SMP Negeri 1 Ranah Pesisir Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. The type of this
research was quantitative research by using factorial design. The samples in this study
were 47 students taken by using random sampling technique. The data collection was
done through questionnaire and performance test. Based on the research conducted, it
can be concluded the following four things. First, the students’ skill of writing a review
text that was taught by using E-Learning learning is better than the students taught by
using conventional learning method. The comparison of the average of both classes is
88,60 and 60,43. Secondly, the skills of writing review texts of students with high
reading interest which was taught by E-Learning learning is better than the skills of
writing review texts of students who have high reading interest which was taught by the
conventional learning method. The comparison of the average of both classes is 88,00
and 73 ,00. Third, the skills of writing review texts of students with low reading interest
taught with E-Learning is better than the skills of writing review texts of students who
have low reading interest who were taught by using conventional learning methods,
with an average comparison of both classes is 83.33 and 62.00. Fourth, there is a
relation between E-Learning and reading interest in influencing students’ skills of
writing review texts.
