FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KENYAMANAN PENGGUNAAN TROTOAR DI KOTA PAYAKUMBUH YANG SESUAI DENGAN KEBUTUHAN PEJALAN KAKI

Abstract

The comfort of pedestrians when using the sidewalk as a pedestrian lane is very important, but the
fact is that many sidewalks are not optimally utilized by pedestrians, of course for a variety of
reasons, one of which is the uncomfortable pedestrians using the sidewalk. Therefore, the authors are
interested in raising this issue because it also occurs in the City of Payakumbuh, the existing
sidewalks are not representative to answer the needs of pedestrians. The purpose of this study was to
determine the factors that influence the convenience of using the sidewalk that is suitable for
pedestrian needs and analyze what factors most influence the comfort. The population of this study is
certainly all people involved directly feeling or utilizing the sidewalk facilities in this case pedestrians
/ sidewalk users who cross the sidewalk paths as well as people who are around the research location
and the Payakumbuh City Government who has authority related to the design of sidewalks in
Payakumbuh City. To answer the purpose of this study, various analyzes were carried out, namely
validity, reliability test, KMO & Bartlett's test and continued with factor analysis, namely the
Measures of Sampling Adequacy (MSA) test, communalities test, extraction factor test and loading
factor test. The results of this study indicate that the factors that influence the comfort of the use of
sidewalks in accordance with pedestrian needs are two factors, namely the Sidewalk Aesthetic Design
factor and Safety Support Facilities. The results of this study are expected to be a reference in
planning the construction of sidewalks that must be oriented to the needs of pedestrians so that the
creation of comfort so that the sidewalk can be optimally utilized by pedestrians.
