Abstract

This study aims to see how the effect of the constraints of SCM in achieving good
construction project profitability. The strategy to achieve the profit target must be
developed, one of which is using the SCM (Supply Chain Management) model.
However, in practice the implementation of SCM encountered obstacles including lack
of transparency in project information, fragmentation of organizational structure,
insufficient work evaluation, unclear rewards, lack of commitment, high resistance to
new ideas and lack of focus on owner requirements. Moving on from these conditions,
this study will examine the relationship of profitability to constraints in supply chain
management (SCM) in building construction projects in the city of Padang, because
profit is the main objective of the construction project. By using factor analysis and
regression the following results are obtained three main things that constrain SCM that
affect profit, namely (F1) Constraints on Commitment to Quality and Innovation, (F2)
Material Availability Constraints, (F3) Information Availability and Coordination
Constraints. Three constraints to implementing this SCM simultaneously have a
significant influence on the success of the profitability of building works in the city of
Padang. This is indicated by the value of the statistical parameters, that is, the F value
of 14.27 and greater than the value of F table α = 5%, which is equal to 2.66. The effect
of the three factors on the implementation of this SCM if managed properly will
determine the success of the project profitability of 83.2% and the remaining 16.8% is
determined by other factors. Each factor constraints the implementation of SCM
partially has a significant influence on the achievement of project profitability; this is
indicated by the results of the t test of each factor, namely F1 at 1,725, F2 at 1.70 and
F3 at 1,745. t test value of each factor is greater than the critical t value for α = (5%)
which is equal to 1,655.
