Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of family support as moderator on the
relationship beetwen product, promotion, student motivation and selecting decision for skilled
program at SMK N 1 Lubuk Sikaping. The population of this study is all students of X, XI, XII
classes which accounted for 202 people. In order to test hypotheses development, this study
performed moderated regresion analysis. The result of analysis reveabled that variable of product
and student motivation were found to have possitive and significant effect on selecting decision for
skilled program. Futhermore, the study found three were no effect of promotion and family support
on selecting decision for skilled program significantly. In adition the result of analysis did not prove
family support as moderator. This study provide practicle contribution in order to enhance the
number of students at skilled program SMK N 1 Lubuk Sikaping, it is recommended to improve the
implementation of product and understanding of student motivation.
