LEGAL PROTECTION OF CHILDREN VICTIMS OF LEGAL CRIMINAL ACTIONS IN MENTAWAI REGENCY DISTRICT (Study at the Social Service and P3A Mentawai Islands District)

Abstract

ABSTRACT
Children who are victims of sexual crime require special protection. Social services and
P3A are implementing elements of Government affairs which are Regional authorities in
the fields of social, women's empowerment, and child protection. Social workers are an
extension of the Office of Social Affairs and P3A, 1) What form of legal protection is
given by the Social Service and P3A of the Mentawai Islands Regency to the children of
victims of sexual abuse? 2) What factors can hinder legal protection for children victims
of sexual abuse in the Mentawai Islands Regency by the Social Service and P3A? This
study used socio legal approach the Data was collected by interview and documentary
study and analized qualitatively 1) Legal protection provided by the Social Service and
P3A for children who are victims of sexual abuse is assistance at every level of
examination ranging from investigations to court hearings in the assistance carried out by
social workers also assisted by the District P2TP2A. 2) the obstacles encountered by the
Social Service and P3A are the lack of social workers and operational funds.
