ASSESSMENT OF CONDITIONS, ACCIDENT RISKS AND PRIORITIES OF HANDLING OF JALAN WILAYA II WEST SUMATERA PROVINCE (CASE STUDY ROADS PADANG-SOLOK-SAWAHLUNTO)

Abstract
The condition of the Jalan Padang-Solok-Sawahlunto Section has suffered considerable
damage in several segments/spots. Existing roads experience many cracks and holes and
collapse due to the heavy traffic of heavy vehicles passing through them. Behind the
benefits of traffic, several questions related to road infrastructure management one of
them is a vehicle traffic accident due to a deficiency in road infrastructure safety To
improve the smooth flow of traffic through the Padang-Solok-Sawahlunto road section, it
needs to be reviewed in order to obtain a stable and stable pavement construction.
Therefore this study aims to (1) To find out the type of road damage and the value of
pavement conditions by using the PCI (Pavement Condition Index) Method and Bina
Marga Method, (2) To find out the value of accident risk in each section of PadangSolok-Sawahlunto, (3) To determine the priority of handling the road path of PadangSolok-Sawahlunto by using the PCI (Pavement Condition Index) Method and Bina Marga
Method. From the results of the survey and data analysis overall the overall road
conditions obtained PCI values of 56,37 included in good condition and bina
marga method obtained a total value of damage 18 so that the condition number
obtained 6. Assessing the risk of accidents on the highway is categorized as harmless
(TB), quite dangerous (CB) and dangerous (B). Priority for handling the Padang-SolokSawahlunto road with the PCI method is included in the periodic maintenance program
while the bina marga method is included in the road improvement or reconstruction
program.
