ABSTRACT
Fulfillment of the patient’s rights in the Solok Selatan hospital is one of the the nurse's
responsibility, as stipulated in Article 29 of Law No. 38 of 2014 about nursing that if a
negligence occurs, the nurse must be responsible to the patient directly. The reserach
problem in this study, are (1) Are the patient's rights in medical services in the inpatient
room of Solok Selatan hospital already fulfilled? (2) What is the nurse's responsibility for
fulfilling the patient's rights in the inpatient room of Solok Selatan hospital? (3) What
are the obstacles and efforts made in fulfilling the patient's rights in the inpatient room of
Solok Selatan hospital? This research uses a sociopolitical juridical approach. The data
of this research are primary data and secondary data. Primary data acquired from
questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Secondary data acquired from document
studies. This research uses qualitative research method. The result of this research are,
(1) The fulfillment of patients' rights in the inpatient room of Solok Selatan hospital have
not been implemented properly, (2) nurses are administratively responsible for patient
rights, and (3) There are three obstacles and efforts to fulfill patient’s rights in the
inpatient room of Solok Selatan hospital.
