PENGARUH KEPEMIMPINAN DAN KEPUASAN KERJA TERHADAP KINERJA PEGAWAI DENGAN MOTIVASI SEBAGAI VARIABEL INTERVENING PADA DINAS LINGKUP PERTANIAN SUNGAI PENUH
Abstract
This study address whether leadership and job satisfaction is significantly associated withindividual performance among employees in Dinas Pertanian Kota Sungai Penuh. In addition, this
study also aim to investigate the role of motivation as intervening variable. Motivation as an
intervening variable has been supported by several motivation theories, such as two-factor theory.
According to this theory, there are two factors affecting motivation in organization: hygiene factor
and motivator. Thus, leadership and job satisfaction are hygiene factors. This study use 106
respondents working in DinasPertanian Kota Sungai Penuhandapply the Structural Equation
Model (SEM) with the use of AMOS software. The result of this study show that there is a
positively significant relationship between leadership and job satisfaction with employee
performance. In addition, motivation is successfullyas intervening variable.This study produce the
result which corroborate the findings of a great deal of the previous work in this field. This finding
has an important implication for developing the individual performance in organization. These
findings enhance our understanding of employee performance in organization. Finally, a number of
limitation is discussed and these limitations will serve as a base for future study in this field.
