The Impact Of Leadership Style And School Climate On Teacher’s Performance: The Role Of Achievement Motivation As An Intervening Variable
Abstract
Performance is outcome of organizational behavior. the factors affecting the performance has been investigated by many researchers. However, study of teacher’s performance is still limited, especially among primary school teachers in West Pasaman Regency. Therefore, This research aimsto investigate the role of Achievement Motivation as an intervening variable on the relationship between leadership style and school climate in State-Owned Primary School at Pasaman Distrik West Pasaman Regency. Population of sampel in this research amounted 189 people, which is sampling method is proportional random sampling using questionnaire with five scale. Analysis Data method is Goodness of Fit Index, Confirmatory factor analysis, Construct-Reliability and path analysis using AMOS 21.0.
The results of instrument test found is valid and reliable. The the hypotheses test show that there is a significant direct effect of leadership style and school climate onteacher’s performance,. In addition, the leadership style and school climate also have a significantly effect on achievement motivation. Further, the achievement motivationis significantly associated with teacher’s performance.the last objective of this reserach is to test whether achievement motivation has an interverning role that mediating relationship between leadership styleand School Climate. The result show that achievement motivation is successfuly as intervening variabel.. This study has a practical implication in the sense that to increase the teacher’s performance by increase the achievement motivation, leadership style and school climate.
