EFFECTIVENESS ANALYSIS OF PARTICIPATION IN INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT IN DRINKING WATER PROGRAM PAMSIMAS GUNUNG TULEH AND TALAMAU SUBDISTRICT DISTRICT PASAMAN BARAT

Abstract

Pamsimas program allow the society to manage all activities independently and activelly  involved in every stage of activities ranging from socialization, planning, execution, control, conservation and development activities. the perpormance of the program depends on the participation of society program implementation mechanism and the facilitation of the process of implementing a participatory approach.This study examines the effektiveness community participation in the construction of the facilities constructed by non-governmental organizations. Therefore, a research on the assess ment of the effectiveness of community participation in the construction of drinking water facilities in the District Program Pamsimas Gunung Tuleh and Talamau Pasaman Barat Is necessary.This study adopted qualitative methods. The qualitative research is conducted in specific environment that exist in real life (naturally) with the purpose of investigating and understanding the phenomenon: what happened, why it happened and how it happened (Finlay 2006). The Data are written in a descriptive report. Data obtained from this study in the form of words and  images.The participation at the Communites  are measured through their financial contributions, in the form of mutual aid personnel and work together in gathering local materials.Based the out came of this studi, it can be concluded that community participation in the construction of drinking water facilities in the District Program Pamsimas Gunung Tuleh and Talamau is considenably effective.
