PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA MELALUI MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE STUDENT TEAM ACHIEVEMENT DIVISION (STAD) BERBASIS MIND MAPPING SISWA KELAS XI IPA3 SMA NEGERI 2 KOTO XI TARUSAN KABUPATEN PESISIR SELATAN

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the result of an increase students speaking
skills in XI IPA 3 SMAN 2 Koto XI Tarusan through STAD cooperative learning model
based on mind mapping. Trianto (2007) explains that the STAD cooperative learning is
one type of cooperative learning model using small groups with a number of group
members hiterogen 4-5 students. Begins with the delivery of learning objectives, delivery
of material, group activities, quizzes, and the appreciation of the group. After the study
group was divided, learning continued with mind mapping techniques as said Swadarma
(2013), mind mapping technique is the use of whole-brain techniques using visual images
and other graphical infrastructure to form an impression. This type of research can be
categorized as quantitative research, and design used in this study is a classroom action
research. The results showed that: there is an increase in students speaking skills which
can be seen from the comparison between the percentage value before the cycle activity,
the percentage of the value of the first cycle and the percentage of the value of the second
cycle. The results of the comparison of the percentage of the average value of the class
between prasiklus activity with activity cycle I, is 55.96 to 69.61, meaning an increase of
13.65. Comparison of the percentage of the average value between the class action
activity first cycle with the second cycle of activities, namely 69.61to72.88, meaning an
increase of 3.27. Based on the research results it can be concluded that the use of mind
mapping techniques can improve the students speaking skills in learning Indonesian.
