PENGARUH METODE CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING (CTL) DAN KEMAMPUAN AWAL TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN MENULIS PARAGRAF DESKRIPSI SISWA KELAS X SMA NEGERI 5 PADANG

Abstract

The purpose of this study was observe the effect of Contextual Teaching And
Learning method (CTL) and the ability of description writing skills of student
grade X SMA Negeri 5 Padang. The theories used were proposed by Tarigan
(2008) and Nurgiyantoro (2010) who discussed about writing, Semi (2009) about
descriptive text writing, and Rusman (2011) about contextual teaching and
learning. This research is a quantitative research using experimental approaches.
The population is class X SMA Negeri Padang 5 registered in the academic year
2013/2014. Classes are selected to be sampled is X.6 class to class and class
experiment X.2 to control class. Sampling was done randomly in class to
determine the number of samples according to the study, amounting to a total of
32 people. Data collection techniques deskriprif paragraph writing skills test. Data
were analyzed using the t testThe results of the study illustrate that first there is
the influence of the use of learning methods contectual teaching and learning
compared to conventional learning methods of students of SMAN 5 Padang with
0.05 significance level with degrees of freedom n-2 (32-2 = 30), because the test
results prove that t> t table. There are differences in the second paragraph of
descriptive writing skills using the high group Contectual Teaching and Learning
methods compared with the high group was taught by conventional methods with
a significance 0:05 with degrees of freedom n-2 (32-2 = 30). Thus, Ho is rejected
H1 accepted because the test results prove that t> t table, there are differences in
the third paragraph of descriptive writing skills lower group using Contextual
Teaching and Learning in comparison with the low group was taught by
conventional methods class X SMA Negeri 5 Champaign 0.05 significance level
with degrees of freedom n-2 (32-2 = 30). Thus, Ho is rejected H1 accepted
because the test results prove bsahwa t> t table. Based on the results of this study
concluded that the use of contextual teaching and learning approach affect the
descriptive paragraph writing skills class X SMA Negeri 5 Padang, there is no
interaction prior knowledge of students in writing skills writing descriptive
paragraphs before and after using Contextual Teaching and Learning
.
