PERUBAHAN FASADE BANGUNAN LAMA PADA KAWASAN KORIDOR JALAN PONDOK DAN JALAN NIAGA

Abstract

Corridor Pondok Street dan Niaga Street is one of Padang old town area. Called old town area cause in this area have historic building to express story about area in the past. In the physical heritage is shop houses have Cina Character and colonial with form single building dan building series. All building in this area have spesific fasade, so it is easier to be known as old town area. Now, several building changing the form of the fasade. The purpose of this research is see what kind of change and what are the factors that encourage the occurence of a change of the form of the building facade in study area.the method used is fenomenology, start to survey, teory serves as background knowledge, record information with photos, then compare it with old photos so the visible difference. The resultshowed that most of the facade of building changes, like form and material of door and windows, increasing of canopy and ornament, numbers of floor and architectural.
