KONTRIBUSI TINGKAT PENGUASAAN KONSEP MENULIS DAN PENGUASAAN KOSAKATA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS KARANGAN ARGUMENTASI SISWA KELAS X MA NEGERI X KOTO SINGKARAK KABUPATEN SOLOK
Abstract
Background of the problem of the research were: 1) writing an argumentationis a difficult thing for the students, 2) less interest of the students in writing
argumentation, 3) less skills of the students in writing argumentation, 4) less in
vocabulary. Based on the background of the problems, purposes of the study
were: 1) to know the contribution of mastery concept into students of grade X
MA Negeri X Koto Singkarak sub province of Solok ability in writing
argumentation, 2) to know the contribution of mastery in vocabulary into into
students of grade X MA Negeri X Koto Singkarak sub province of Solok ability
in writing argumentation, 3) to know the contribution of mastery in concept
into into students of grade X MA Negeri X Koto Singkarak sub province of
Solok ability in writing argumentation. Population of the correlation research
is the students of into students of grade X MA Negeri X Koto Singkarak sub
province of Solokyear 2014/2015 with the total sample 40 students. Technique
of the taking sample used is total sampling. Instruments of the research used
are objective test of mastery of the writing concept, objective test in mastery of
vocabulary which have tested in validity and reliability, and methodological
work on writing argumentation. Form of the data of the research is score in the
form of value. Furthermore, the data is analyzed by using correlation test of
Pearson Product Moment (PPM), double correlation test, t test, f test, and
coefficient determinant formula to know the contribution of free variable
(writing concept and mastery in vocabulary) into variable (students ability in
writing argumentation), both themselves or together. Result of the study are: 1)
writing concept shows the significant contribution in 29,59% into writing
ability of an argumentation, 2) the significant contribution of mastery in
vocabulary shows 18,15% into writing ability of an argumentation, 3) both
writing concept and mastery of vocabulary shows the the significant
contribution in 64,64 % into writing ability of an argumentation. The result
shows that the concept of writing and mastery in vocabulary both themselves
and together shows the significant contribution into writingargumentation
ability. More higher writing concept and mastery of vocabulary, writing ability
in writing argumentation is more higher. Because of that, it is suggest to the
teacher to be focused in supporting students to write and doing exercise
probably the students more mastery in vocabulary.
