Abstract

In a construction project is very large uncertainty because it can’t predict exactly how much
profit or loss to be obtained. Losses can only occur because one of them caused by reworking
(rework) on a series of transformation processes a job. According to Love (2002) is generally
reworks are doing work in the field more than once or activity that moves the job has been done
before as part of the project. From the definition, it was clear that rework is something which is
not favorable conditions for the parties to a construction work. In The Kabupaten Kerinci, work
with rework status is not something strange because almost found the repetition of jobs in recent
years, especially the last five years 2010 through 2014. Some efforts have been made, one of
which is to discover the dominant cause of the onset of rework through a survey conducted
independently by each partner, but these efforts do not provide optimal results. This study aims
to determine the exact factors that cause the occurrence of rework on any kind of jobs that have
been held throughout the last five years by the Department of Public Works of Kabupaten
Kerinci simultaneously know the exact size of the contribution of each factor causes of rework
that will provide convenience for all parties to action anticipation of the future. The analysis
showed that there are two very decisive factors in the occurrence of rework that material usage
and availability Work Schedule, and improper design. The second contribution of this factor
amounted to 94.9% and the remaining 5.1% is determined by other factors outside of these two
factors. For a level of significance of the influence brought about by two factors together or
simultaneously visible from the F test results obtained. F test results obtained at 40 659. As for
the standard F at α = 5% (n-k-1) where n is the number of samples (70), k is the number of
variables (2 variables) obtained value of 3:07. Of the two F values obtained can be concluded
that the F1 and F2 have a significant effect because F count > F table. Furthermore, to see the
significance of each factor to rework determined based on the value of t obtained. For this study t
table amounted to 1.65 with a value of α = 0.05 compared with the value of t the calculation
results, we conclude all the factors of significant influence in the rework.
