Abstract

Medical dispute is a dispute between the patient or the patient's famil with
physician or other health professionals. Medical disputes occur if the patient feels
aggrieved by the health services by physicians. Disputes usually caused by the
alleged medical malpractice doctors and violation of informed consent. Medical
disputes that occur frequently can not be resolved. This study aims to determine
the implementation process of mediation in case of dispute the medical and
effectiveness of mediation in resolving medical disputes in M. Djamil Hospital,
Padang. This study was a qualitative study and used a socio legal approach. This
study used primary and secondary data. Data was collected by interviews,
observation and documentary study. Data were analyzed qualitatively. The results
showed that the medical dispute resolution process is done kinship and good
implemented. Mediation to resolve medical disputes in M. Djamil Hospital is
applied effectively, nothing is resolved litigation. It takes a form of independent
medical dispute resolution to give greater protection to the rights of patients.
