PEMBUATAN KOMPONEN AKTIF KATALIS PERENGKAHAN YANG STABIL (ZEOLIT Y)

Abstract

Indonesia needs almost 20 tons per day of cracking catalyst for  FCCU (Fluid Catalityc Cracking Unit) and RCCU (Residue Catalityc Cracking Unit ), there are 2 catalityc cracking  units in Indonesia. Generally, catalityc cracking unit has two main tools; reactor and regenerator. Operation condition in both the tools is extreme enough (Treactor.= 465-510oC and Tregenerator = 600-700oC). One of components in  cracking catalyst is active component ;Y zeolite. The component must be stable( it can maintain performances of cracking catalyst in high temperature). SiO2/AlO3 ratio of Y zeolit product is 3-6. Y zeolit with SiO2/AlO3 ratio larger than 5 is more stable than the lower ratio. SiO2/AlO3 ratio itself is affected by raw material, reactant composition, preparation conditions and preparation techniques  used. The synthesized Y zeolite is analysed by X-ray diffraction method to know its SiO2/AlO3 ratio. By this research, a recipe and procedure of Y zeolite synthesis with SiO2/AlO3 ratio larger than 5 was produced. In cracking process, Y zeolite with SiO2/AlO3 ratio larger than 5 is known to be stable.
