EVALUASI PERFORMANSI FLOW MATERIAL DAN PERANCANGAN SISTEM MATERIAL HANDLING DENGAN PENDEKATAN SIMULASI

Abstract

The main purposes of the research are analyzing the production flow in existing condition, finding the model of material flow that will be used in machining process and deciding the appropriate material handling system. The analysis result from simulation model by using Arena software shows that the material flow shapes like U line and S line which is different from the arrival pattern of cycles of operator work and material transfer system. So, it is necessary to equalize the system and further, it is suggested to use two scenarios in arranging the operator (transporter) in work cycles. Decision making from the existing condition and suggested scenarios were done with an analytical hierarchy process and software expert choice methods. The chosen scenarios was first scenario with value of 46.2% and there were increase of volume and utilities and decrease of cycle time and the number of work in process. Finally, this thesis is recommended as a consideration reference for engineering department to arrange operator work priority in the resource, which has the highest work in process.
