Abstrak

Sex change surgery, also known as sex change surgery or genital reconstruction, is surgery that
changes a person's sexual structure (sex), both in terms of appearance and function, from a man to a
woman, or vice versa. Public perception perceives the behavior of changing sex with the operation as
a behavior that deviates from the social values adopted by the community because it denies the nature
given by the almighty God. Suvey on 50 Health Workers Respondents in Sijunjung Regency found that
60.7% of respondents did not agree to have a sex change operation, even though the patient had medical
and psychological indications. Most respondents considered sex change operation as deviant and
socially unacceptable in the community. More than 90% of respondents want legal and ethical clarity
in the implementation of sex change operations.
