Abstrak

IVF is a term better known by the public compared to its medical language, In Vitro Fertilization
(IVF). This name arises from the process of meeting the egg and sperm that occur in a tubular glass
container where the fertilization process takes place. the purpose of this study was to examine the
ethical and legal aspects of IVF in the view of the community. This research is a sociological legal
research that is research conducted in the field to obtain primary data. The research instrument used
was a questionnaire distributed to 50 respondents in a clinic in the city of Padang. The results of the
study concluded that in law children born through the process of IVF from a legitimate husband and
wife are domiciled if they receive recognition and The opinions of scholars on baby tubes are in
accordance with Islamic law
