Abstract
The study addresses the challenge of revitalizing the abandoned PT. Asra Textile area into a student housing that supports both academic and creative activities. The primary aim is to design a student housing that reflects the needs of Generation Z, using the "Creative Sense of Place" approach to enhance comfort, accessibility, and social interaction within the urban context of Padang. The research utilizes a qualitative methodology, including site analysis, surveys, and questionnaires distributed to 43 respondents. The study examines the current state of the PT. Asra Textile area, student housing preferences, and relevant architectural theories. Data is synthesized to inform the design, focusing on aspects like building infill, spatial organization, and the integration of creative community spaces. The findings reveal that the existing student housing lacks facilities that support both academic and creative endeavors. The study identifies key design elements that enhance the "Sense of Place," including adaptive reuse of the textile factory, integration of creative spaces, and consideration of Generation Z's preferences for modern amenities, connectivity, and social interaction within a revitalized urban environment. The study concludes that revitalizing the PT. Asra Textile area into a student housing using the "Creative Sense of Place" approach can significantly enhance student life in Padang. Recommendations include adopting adaptive reuse strategies, designing flexible spaces that foster creativity, and ensuring accessibility and comfort. These measures can transform the site into a vibrant hub for academic and social activities. Keywords : Student Housing, Revitalization, PT.
