PENGARUH KEPEMIMPINAN DAN KOMPETENSI TERHADAP KINERJA PEGAWAI DENGAN MOTIVASI KERJA SEBAGAI VARIABEL INTERVENING PADA DINAS PENDIDIKAN DAN KEBUDAYAAN KABUPATEN KEPULAUAN MENTAWAI
Abstract
Employee performance is an important part that is useful to help the organization achieve its Vision andMission. This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of leadership and competence on
employee performance by making work motivation as an intervening variable. Determination of the
study sample is based on the total sampling method, so that the number of research samples is exactly
the same as the total population, which is as many as 126 employees of the Department of Education
and Culture of the Mentawai Islands Regency.The form of this research model is Structural Equation
Modelings (SEM) with SmartPLS 3.2.7 tools. The results of the research data analysis found that there
were significant positive influences on leadership, competence and work motivation on employee
performance. while leadership does not have a significant positive effect on work motivation, while
competence has a significant effect on work motivation. Furthermore, this study also revealed that
leadership did not have a significant effect on employee performance through work motivation, on the
other hand it was found that competence had a significant effect on employee performance through
work motivation.
