Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude of the influence of Ambiguous Role and Role
Conflict on Organizational Commitment and Its Impact on Female Employee Work Stress in
the Work Unit of the Implementation of the National Region I Region of West Sumatra
Province. The number of samples in this study were 66 respondents drawn by the census
method. The analytical tool used in this study was Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of
the first hypothesis testing show that the relationship of ambiguous role variables (X1) with
organizational commitment (Y1) shows the path coefficient value of -0.658 with a t value of
7.699. This value is greater than t table (1,960), and the P Values value is 0,000, the value is
small of 0,005. This result means that ambiguous roles have a positive and significant
relationship to organizational commitment. This means that Hypothesis 1 is accepted.
