Abstract

This study examines the influence of customers and the competitive intensity of SMes construction
companies in the city of Batam. Data was collected through surveys where out of the 60 questionnaires
distributed were 47 questionnaires obtained and could be used as samples. The author uses multiple
regression analysis in the results of the hypothesis and the results obtained that the customer orientation
and th ecompetitive intensity had positive effect on the performance of construction companies. Based on
the results of multiple regression analysis, customer orientation had the most significant effect compared
to the competitive intensity variable on company performance
.
