Abstract

This research is a study that examined the influence of work stress and work discipline toward organizational commitment through Job satisfaction as an intervening variable a study on Population And Civil Registration Offices Mentawai Island Regency. The population in this research is employee of Population And Civil Registration Offices Mentawai Island Regency amounted 53 peoples which sampling method is sensus method. Based on analysis result of SEM method using program smartPLS 2.0 M3, it was found that, 1). there is significant positive effect of variable of work discipline, job satisfaction toward Organiational Commitment, 2). There is significant positive effect of variable of work discipline toward job satisfaction 3). There is significant negative effect of variable of job stressor toward Organizational Commitment and job satisfaction, 4). There is significant positive effect of variable work discipline toward Organizational Commitment through job satisfaction, 5). There is significant negative effect of variable of job stressor toward Organizational Commitment through job satisfaction.The result of this study generally describes that performance is determined by the factor of job stressor, and work discipline toward Organizational Commitment either directly or indirectly through job satisfaction variable. Then, researcher suggests the next researches to develop population, sample and variables that the next study is measurable, variation and is better.The findings of this study are consistent and provide reinforcement toward previous research conducted Soetjipto (2008) Rani Mariam (2009) who conducted a research on job stressor toward organizational commitment, job satisfaction on employee PT. Octa Mitranusa.
