Abstract

This research was to investigate whether the organizational commitment and the organizational fairness affected on the working performance and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) as the intervening variable to the vocational high school teachers in Sungai Penuh City.

In this research, there were 7 (seven) research hypothesis which consisted of 5 (five) direct impact hypothesis and 2 (two) indirect impact hypothesis through intervening variable. Population was 214 teachers of the vocational high school in Sungai Penuh City. Proportional random sampling was chosen to get sample. Thus, there were 156 respondents who assigned as sample by using Slovin formula.  By using SEM method (structural equation modeling) supported by Amos 16, the findings showed that organizational commitment, organizational fairness, and organizational citizenship behavior contributed a significant positive affect to teachers’ performance; organizational commitment and organizational fairness provided a significant positive affect to organizational citizenship behavior. These research findings also found that the affect of organizational commitment and organizational fairness improved significantly on teachers’ performance through the variable of organizational citizenship behavior.
