PENGARUH KARAKTERISTIK INDIVIDU DAN KARAKTERISTIK PEKERJAAN TERHADAP KINERJA DENGAN KEPUASAN KERJA SEBAGAI VARIABEL INTERVENING DI LINGKUNGAN KANWIL BADAN PERTANAHAN NASIONAL PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT

Abstract

The objective of this study is effort to explain the effect of individual characteristic and work
characteristic to performance, and the effect of job satisfaction as intervening variable
among individual characteristic and work characteristic to performance of employees of the
National Land Agency in the Regional Office of West Sumatra Province. Population in this
study amount 486 people contents all of employees of the National Land Agency in the
Regional Office of West Sumatra Province. Technique of sampling is proportional random
sampling method sampling of this research using Slovin formula so that the sample
amounted to 220 people and using questionnaire, furthermore data processing with validity
test and reliability test, for hypothesis test using multiple regression, simple regression and
compound regression. The result of study concludes that individual characteristic significant
influence and positive to job satisfaction, work characteristic significant influence and
positive to job satisfaction, job satisfaction significant influence and positive to performance
and job satisfaction able to mediate relationship among individual characteristic and work
characteristic to performance of employees of the National Land Agency in the Regional
Office of West Sumatra Province. The result also proved that have a contribution of
individual characteristic and work characteristic to performance 14,3%, remaining 85,7% a
given and explained by another variables excluded in this model. Job satisfaction as
intervening variable is able to increase the contribution of leadership and task assertion
variable 2,8%.
