PENGARUH LOCUS OF CONTROL DAN KEPEMIMPINAN TERHADAP KEPUASAN KERJA PEGAWAI DENGAN MOTIVASI SEBAGAI VARIABEL INTERVENING PADA BIRO UMUM SETDA PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to analyze the role of motivation as a a variabel intervening betweenlocus of control, leadership, and job satisfaction in Bureau of the General Secretariat of West
Sumatera Province. The population of this study is civil servant that currently working in General
Secretariat of West Sumatera Province , in total are 122 employees. And this study was also
sampling technique, which is the Proportional cluster random sampling. In the research of the
hypotheses, the research was using multiple linear regression, simple and graded by using SPSS
version 15.0. The result of analysis revealed that a) there was a positive and significant effect of
locus of control and leadership on job satisfaction, b) there was a positive and significant effect of
locus of control and leadership on job motivation, c) There was a positive and significant effect of
motivation on job satisfaction, d) motivation acts as partial variabel intervening between the locus
of control, leadership and job satisfaction. And as result of this study, researcher suggest that the
civil servants should increase the locus of control and motivation of their job in the next future and
leaders are expected to give more attention and motivation to their subordinate, like how satisfied
they are about their job also service to the society is expected to be maximum.
