Abstract

Meat of cacao is a waste produced from cacao processing that contains protein (5,69-9,69% by weight), fat (0,02-0,15% by weight), glucose (1,16-3,92% by weight), sucrose (0,02-0,1% by weight), pectin (5,30-7,08% by weight), crude fiber (33,19-39,45% by weight). This cacao’s meat could be processed become a compost. Nowadays,  the composting process has been conducting for along time (about 2 months). Processing of compost could be done quickly through conditions  control and activator adding. The purpose of this research was to accelarate the composting process through adding of several activator such as commercial EM 4, prepared EM, cow’s manure, and fermes to composting time, N, P, K content and number of reducing compost mass. The result of research showed that all of activator used: EM4, EM, cow’s manure, and fermes can produced compost from cacao’s meat. However, Cow’s manure improved composting time faster than others that was 19 days with 8 gram weight, nitrogen content 1,07%. To obtain high phosphor content  could be used EM4 activator and cow’s manure while the highest kalium content (0,17%) found for EM activator.
